Ballet- Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and will maximize technique and longevity in a career of dance. It provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. This class is split into levels 1-4. Age and technical ability will factor into which level your dancer is placed in.
Tap-Tap dance is a type of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion.
Ballet/Tap Combo- This class will focus on gross motor skill development and coordination through movement to music. The curriculum will be ballet and tap based, with a small introduction to acro and the use of our mats. Our little dancers will learn the basic fundamentals of ballet and tap, standing at the ballet barre, across the floor progressions, creative movement to fun songs, and will dance both a tap and ballet dance in our recital.
Acrobatic Arts (Acro)- the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.
Hip Hop- Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music.
Hip Hop/Acro Combo- This combination class is split into two 1/2 hour sessions for the price of one hour class. Students will learn hip hop as described above for the first half hour and then will switch to an entry level Acrobatic Arts class for the last half hour. This fun class is a great way for students to try two fun classes, while enhancing their skill level. Only Hip Hop is performed in recital for this dance class.
Hippity Hop- An introduction to Hip Hop dance for your little one. Your little one will learn the basics of a proper dance class (i.e. staying in line, going across the floor, stretching and learning a recital routine) with an emphasis on hip hop dance.
Contemporary- Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self-expression.
Jazz- Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography.
Jazz/Tap Combo- This combination class focuses on both jazz and tap dance for our younger recreational dancers. Dancers will delve into developing the skill sets required to perform both a jazz and tap dance in our recital.
Turns and Leaps- This class is designed to work on strength, flexibility, and conditioning. All to which lead to the proper technique and skill level required to learn various leaps and turns in dance. Improve your dance technique through this power packed class! No choreography is taught in this class, though short combos might be used to link skills together.
Lyrical- This class is a combination of ballet and jazz that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret music and express emotion. Dancers learn to express emotions derived from lyrics to convey the dance’s meaning.
Musical Theatre- Musical Theatre is the study of Broadway dance and dance styles. Students learn choreography from select musicals and perform dance while incorporating acting and emotions.
